GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT GUIDELINES

For those of you participating in our attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest hearse parade, kindly familiarise yourself with the below rules.

Largest Parade of Hearses Record definition

· This record is for the largest parade of hearses in a parade formation over a set course.

· This record is to be attempted by a team of unlimited size.

· This record is to be measured by the number of hearses in the parade.

· For the purpose of this record a hearse is defined as a vehicle for conveying the coffin at a funeral.

Rules for Largest parade of hearses

1. All the vehicles must be capable of carrying a coffin and must be, or have been, in actual service as a hearse. It is not acceptable to use ordinary estate cars or other vehicles that have merely been painted or decorated to look like hearses.

2. A coffin does not need to be carried in each hearse.

3. The length of the line created by these vehicles may be recorded for interest but is not relevant to the record attempt.

4. All drivers must hold a full driving license.

5. All vehicles participating in this world record attempt must be moving – it is not acceptable merely to park them in a row.

6. License plate numbers of all vehicles participating in the parade must be provided.

7. The minimum distance of the parade must be at least 3.2 km. (2 miles) from the starting point to the finish (all vehicles must cross the start line and drive the length of the route to the finish line). We will be attempting to complete 1 lap of the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

8. If a vehicle cannot complete the route, that vehicle will be deducted from the total count.

9. There must be no significant ‘gaps’ in the flow of vehicles. The vehicles in the parade may not be more than two vehicle-lengths apart during the parade.

Currently the World Record is 122 hearses, set by Funerex Africa in 2022. Join us in breaking our Guinness World Record for the largest parade of hearses!
